GOAL: Achieve a minimum of 85% CDF utilisation by 2026.
PROGRESS SO FAR:
In 2022, uptake of CDF funding stood at just 19%. Aided by PDU, this increased to 54.4% the following year, and 86.1% in 2024.
Muchinga Province has the highest uptake of CDF at 93%, followed by Copperbelt (91%) and Western Province (86%).
As of 2024, 86% of Zambians are aware of CDF, according to a study by Transparency International Zambia (TI-Z),
Between 2022 and 2024, 163 maternity annexes have been completed using CDF, with a further 11 rehabilitated.
In addition, 618,948 school desks have been procured and a further 33,570 repaired under CDF. This means that 1.2 million Zambian pupils can now sit at a desk to learn.
524 Water Sanitation and Hygiene Education (WASHE) stations have been built at schools, with a further 293 at heath facilities,91 at markets, and 14 at bus stations. These small taps and basins allow citizens to access safe drinking water and to wash their hands to prevent the spread of disease.
