FOOD SECURITY
GOAL: Produce one million tonnes of wheat and soybeans and 10 million tonnes of maize annually by 2030.
PROGRESS SO FAR: the 2023-2024 drought - the worst in living memory - has hindered agricultural production. However, the 2025 harvest is predicted to be the best in Zambia’s history.
PDU has been instrumental in improving agricultural resilience, helping to roll out the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CATSP) and increase winter maize planting.
